Coop is participating in The Drawing Show at sixspace gallery!
DECEMBER 13, 2003 – JANUARY 17, 2004
Coop’s got a full-on solo show at sixspace in August 2004, but he’s also participating in the gallery’s DRAWING SHOW right now.
Coop’s part in this show—his first-ever offering of sketches for sale. He’s offering the original sketches for the couture swimsuits featured in Augst 2003’s PAPER Magazine.
For more info check out the sixspace site: www.sixspace.com. Here’s what they have to say about this show:
“Our annual group exhibition for 2003 focuses on drawings and works on paper. As the interest in drawing has swept through the art world with major drawing exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art (Drawing Now) and the Hammer Museum along with the rise of groups like the Royal Art Lodge, it’s important to continue highlighting the significance of the medium. The Drawing Show aims to examine the diverse way artists explore the medium by detailing those who utilize drawing as a precursor to paintings and those who’s primary medium is drawing.”
Last COOP Appearance of 2003!
Well, stocking stuffers, it’s coming up on That Time Of Year again and you know what that means—The Mooneyes Xmas Party of course!
You may remember this as The Rat Fink Reunion—the name’s been changed to protect the not-so-innocent, if you get our drift, but all the usual suspects will be crawling out of the woodwork to celebrate the season wit yo fine ass anyway.
Anyway here’s the scoop:
SATURDAY DECEMBER 13TH
9AM - 4PM
THE STAR ACADEMY
11515 COLIMA
WHITTIER CA 90605
(near the intersection of Colima and Telegraph)Hot Rods, Kustoms, Live Music, assorted Rockabilly Kats and their respective Kittens, food and beer—it’s all happening!
And best of all? Coop will be there and signing all day!
For further info and directions go to the Mooneyes website—See you there!
QUEER EYE for the COOP Guy?
Nope, your eyes do not deceive you—the new “Steven S.” episode of Queer Eye For the Straight Guy (airing Tuesday Dec. 2 and again as they rerun) features Coop’s very own DEVIL’S ADVOCATE book, both at the beginning and the end of the show. Jai carries it around the apartment, and it’s in several shots in the first 10 minutes or so of the episode.
And we guess the queers approved, because it’s also the only item on the snazzy new coffee table, even AFTER the big makeover.
Cheers, Queers—Color us PINK!
Say there Friend, did you give up hope? Well, so did we, quite frankly, but Gee WHIZ this almost makes life worth living again.
What are we talking about? TOYS, little droogies, TOYS.
Figurines, collectibles, pre-paints—call ’em what you want but THEY’RE FINALLY HERE!
Just in time to stuff your stocking, we’ve really and truly got our grubby little lunch hooks on these five fine beauties, and not a minute too soon.
These here are PRE-PAINTED (Not kits!) cold cast porcelain (that’s the finest material available), painted by hand (thanks, Kathie Lee!) and super-detailed. Each comes in its own collectible box (personally designed by Coop even) and is ready to display right up there beside Chief Modern Poets of Britain and America or maybe The Joy of Sex. Hegel the Philosopher or Haagar the Horrible—we won’t judge you!
Yes, it’s been a LONG time coming—but seeing these babies in person makes the wait seem like mere nanoseconds. We sure hope you agree! Click on the image and get yours now.
When you’re in LA, eventually Everyone gets a facelift! If our litho posters look the same, only different, it’s because Coop has “refreshed” them—no Botox or lip implants, but a whole new look all the same. The original three are completely redrawn, and they have two new friends to keep them company. Click on the image above to order.
We think you’ll agree that idle hands most certainly are NOT in our Devil’s workshop!!
COOP COUTURE!
Sweet Stinkin’ Jeebus these new stickers are freaking me out!
Coop’s latest take on couture (August issue of Paper Magazine) was such a hit that we stayed up all night for weeks getting those images into production as stickers.
And Here They Are!
These look different because they are done with a whole different process from Coop’s other stickers in order to capture the super-fleshtastic-ness of the dee-licious dishes—in other words, we spared no expense to make these girls look just like the magazine pages, and boy was it ever worth it.
They are the same general size as our regular large size stickers (sorry no minis) and they are in stock now and ready to zip your way. Click on the image above!
Oh and you might also like to look at the September VOGUE—there is a huge couture spread featuring—wait for it—Girls and Robots! They even have a girl on a Segway! Gee, we wonder where they got THAT idea....
Okay, back to the hard sell—order these new stickers now, Suckas—They’s the Shiznit!
CHILLER!
AOooooooh, kids! It’s SO Scary!
It’s scarier than a pack of rats!
What could it be? Why it’s Coop’s appearance at the 13th Anniversary Chiller Theatre convention in Horrible, Horrible New Jersey!
This year’s antics span the Halloween weekend (that’s October 31—November 2, 2003) and promises to be “the best Chiller ever!” Hey, who can argue with that? Certainly not you!
Admit it—you were just trying to figure out a way to spend more time in New Jersey....
And of course, for further info check out their website.
Attention Retailers!
Coop will be appearing at MAGIC in Las Vegas on Tuesday and Wednesday (August 26 and 27) to promote his shiny new licensing agreement with Chaser.
Tip-top quality merchandise and lots of brand new designs will be unveiled at the show, so if you’re in Las Vegas you should make some time to check it out. Chaser is at Booth #13314 in the Active Licensing section.
Stop by, meet Coop, and pick up some surprise goodies!
Oh and this show is closed to the public—admission is with ID badges only—so sorry, but that’s a big “No Can Do” to all you non-retailers out there....
PAPER originals now available!
If you enjoyed Coop’s latest spread in PAPER Magazine, now you can own one of the original drawings. Just head on over to the Originals page and nab your favorite.
COOP is back in PAPER!
After his wild success interpreting couture (dat’s dem fancy dresses ’n’ shit, fer you nincompoops), Paper Magazine has yet again called upon Coop to give his impressions of the highest in high fashion. This time he’s turned his eye to couture swimwear, and you’ve just got to check out the pages to believe it!
Don’t tell those pathetic runway models, but here—finally—is a look at how designer bathing suits would look on a real live delicious GIRL instead of a pipecleaner or an ironing board!
This issue is August 2003 and has Jenna Jameson on the cover. It’s on the stands now (late July) but they do go quickly…
Billy Gibbons Represents!
We just got a hold of this Super-Exclusive photo of ZZ Top man AND LONGTIME COOP FAN Billy Gibbons, seen here with the now famous Coop Ensemble, lovingly created by Swiss sex symbol Bernard Moix and photographed by the world renowned Alain Sauquet.See more of Alain’s work on his website: alainsauquet.com.
COOP Will Be Signing
at the San Diego ComicCon!
Good news! Coop will be on hand for signing and visiting at the LAST GASP booth on Saturday July 19th, 2003, from 12:30—2:00 pm. LAST GASP will have both of Coop’s books for sale (and lots of other neat crap too), so mark your calendars!
COOP VAMPI!
Well, he’s done it again! Coop has drawn another comic book cover!
This time its a super-saucy Vampirella cover, and we’ve finally got a portion of the VERY limited run to sell here on Coopstuff. The original art for this one flew out the door, but you can still enjoy the image (and in full color) for a measly five bucks. Click on the cover above to order.
(We’ve heard that if you can find this in comic shops they’ll ream you for $7.50 or more for it—why not just get it here for five?)
This Coop cover is actually an alternate for this comic and was only printed for 1/4 of the run. We don’t know how many we can get so don’t wait on this one and don’t blame us if they all flitter away in a jiffy....
HOLY MATRIMONY?
It’s a State Secret, but we’ve just got a hold of some of these AWESOME 8-color posters. They were privately commissioned (Coop NEVER does this!) and printed in 2001 for the Swankiest Hollywood Wedding of the Year, and until This Very Minute the only place you could see one (well, unless you were on the guest list that is) was on the pages of The Devil’s Advocate. But now, through the generosity of the groom himself, we are able to bring a very few of these amazing posters directly to you.
This is a full-sized, hand-pulled silkscreen poster, of Coop’s usual 23" x 36" dimensions, signed and numbered by Coop from an edition of 200. Most of them were given out as favors at the wedding, though, so these more than qualify as Super Scarce.
Click on the image to get one today, or regret missing them tomorrow!
